About the Artist
Mati Bracha is an award-winning American-Israeli artist whose work can be interpreted visually through shapes, forms and graffiti-like words, freely scribbled with a calligraphic design. Having been immersed in the Big Apple’s iconic culture, her inspiration branches toward peculiar human movements. Rich colors and gradients are a modern take on art in which she explores movement, harmony and emotion. “My art is pieces of moments and memories, tied together or flown freely into consciousness–it is all very personal.”
About the Work
In her latest exhibition titled “White Noise,” Mati Bracha captures the white noise generated by New York City and its residents. White noise, by definition, is a varied mixture of sound waves extending over a wide frequency range. Bracha conveys these sound waves through colors, lines and strokes. The fused sounds of random voices speaking simultaneously, blaring sirens and traffic, and hasty footsteps pounding the concrete emanate from each canvas.
