About the Artist
Mario Busoni, who was born in Berlin, Germany, has lived and worked in New York City most of his life. His depictions of the female figure in bronze, terracotta, and wood are abstracted to create a sensuous equivalent of the figure. Some of the works are more expressionistic than others, but all share the quality of emotional compression and a humanistic perspective. His work has been exhibited at the National Academy of Design, the Art Lab Galleries at the Snug Harbor Cultural Center, the 2/20 Gallery, the Joe and Emily Lowe Art Gallery, and Noho M55 Gallery, all in New York City.
