About the Work
Technique is just as powerful as the color used to express it. Like the blue sky is painted with clouds, raw exposed canvas is used as part of a constructivist backdrop and foreground, which are peeled away once surrounded by the scraffito interrupting my Jackson Pollock-inspired gestural drip style. The sky has a picturesque story to tell and so do the arresting and sometimes adventitious collision of colors in my Smear Paintings.
